See? It's not just me

The World of Pig blogger surely risks getting fired from teaching for being so honest. But you have to love it.

I had the misfortune of going to high school for four years (before college) after immigrating to United States. Except prisons and insane asylums, I can't think of another institution that has perfected the art of murdering motivation and natural curiosity to a better degree than high school has. Blame the system, not just the students.

When we needed a hero we got an idiot. Then we re-elected him.

Yes, by all means, let's kill the messenger. At the very least, let's pretend like the problem would go away if the messenger did something else for a living.

Here's a thought for those of you without the balls to identify yourself with even a pseudonym - why don't you get off your rock-flinging ass and motivate your own damn kids? Human beings are supposed to be inquisitive by nature - that is the basis by which we have come to understand reality around us. Turn off the TV, throw the Nintendo out the window, and make your kids go play baseball instead of High Heat. Then when they get back, tell them they can watch TV after they spend an hour reading.

Or just get used to hearing your kids called stupid, lazy, apathetic - and get used to hearing it from my kid, because he's the one they'll be working for.
