Bad Interviewing Techniques on The Today Show

And this is why I can't stand Campbell "Can you hear my lisp?" Brown. Meredith, you can't arrive too soon.

This is shockingly bad. What ever happened to the idea that having a conversation is like playing catch. I have the ball then you have the ball... over and over. She not only got in the way of the woman she was interviewing, she got in her own way.

I would suspect that the "fashion expert" had never had any media training. Thus, a bad interviewer is trying to interview a person who does not understand how television works or how to make her point.

Maybe some of the national television news personalities are so accustom to interviewing people who have had professional media training. Thus the personalities have developed bad habits and unreasonable expectations.

Watch it with the sound off. It looks like they are getting into some kind of catfight.

Wow, I kept screaming "shut up!!" at my monitor. I hate it when people overlap and interrupt each other. Campbell was so aggressive... did you notice how the fashion expert kept taking a step back, only to have Campbell take yet another step forward??

By the end of the clip I felt so irritated. XD Ugh, and it happens every day in the classroom and out of the classroom too. You run into people who just can't stop talking over the people they talk to. It's one of my biggest social pet peeves.
